Räikkönen's contract situation is still open.

Manager Steve Robertson was busy on Suzuka Grand Prix -paddock. What is the situation when thinking of next season?
– The situation at the moment is that we negotiate with several F1-teams - there have come forward teams you wouldn't even think that would be looking for a driver. It's a fact that Kimi has not signed any contract with anyone and the negotiations continue, Robertson said.
– The goal is to continue in F1 but like Kimi himself has said, he only wants to win and drive for the championship. That's why we are looking for a team where he could do that.
– A lot of negotiations have been held and will be held in the future. Hopefully during the next 2-3 weeks a deal has been made with some team.
– The top teams all want to decide their drivers before the season ends in Abu Dhabi. Making the decision by then is also in Kimi's interests. It requires intense negotiations.

Where could you then find a winning car?
– You don't have to be an Einstein to figure out which teams could offer a winning car and therefore who we are negotiating with, Robertson said.

Winning cars this season have been Brawn, Red Bull, McLaren and Ferrari.

How does Räikkönen think about his future?
– First I have to get a contract I'm satisfied with and a car that can win the championship. There's no reason for me to go to a bad team and drive in a circle. I'd rather stay home if that would be the case, Räikkönen said.
