Fiorio: Ferrari must back one driver

A former Ferrari boss has claimed the Scuderia's problems have come about due to the team's drivers and management's inability to create and implement intelligent strategies.

Cesare Fiorio, Ferrari's sporting director from 1989-1991, has said he feels the team's season is being spoilt by mistake from the pit wall and in the cockpit.
"I suspect the Ferrari is still the best car but it is being spoiled by errors from the command post and by the drivers," Fiorio said.

Felipe Massa and Kimi Raikkonen have managed only three podium finishes and one victory combined in their last 12 Grand Prix starts.

Fiorio has urged the team to back one of their drivers if they plan to remain in the title race.

"Ferrari need to decide on who to put the money on - Massa or Raikknen," he concluded.
